Feb 21 is International Tourist Guides Day. This years theme – Sustainability + Visit Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters (#YCW2020) = BEACH CLEAN up by the Scottish Tourist Guides Association.
As a member of the Scottish Tourist Guides Association, I couldn’t not join their organised beach clean up on International Tourist Guides Day. We gathered in North Queensferry, just under the Forth Bridges and cleaned up 3 small beaches for 2 hours.
All, including myself, were staggered at the amount of rubbish that was there. After 2 hours we had 10 bags of rubbish for the local council to dispose of in an appropriate place and manner. Included were cotton buds, sanitary waste, a lot of plastic bottles and food wrappers, and glass.
I am proud to have taken part and to make Scotland that little bit more beautiful for visitors.
